Αλλάξτε την εμφάνιση του monitor(.vrypan.net)

16/02/06: Ανανεώθηκε στην έκδοση 0.2 η οποία είναι ελαφρώς γρηγορότερη. Για όσους εγκατέστησαν την προηγούμενη έκδοση θα χρειαστεί να την αφαιρέσουν. Προστέθηκε επίσης έκδοση standalone firefox extension.

Για όσους τους ενοχλεί η νέα εμφάνιση του monitor με τα μεγάλα fonts και έχουν Firefox με το Greasmonkey extension, μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν το παρακάτω scriptάκι ή firefox extension.

Επαναφέρει όλες τις εγγραφές στο κανονικό τους μέγεθος και προσθέτει μία μπάρα που αντιπροσωπεύει τη “δημοτικότητα”.

Η μπάρα είναι απλό CSS και όχι εικόνα.

Monitor, sanitised

Εάν έχετε το Greasemonkey, κάντε δεξί κλίκ στο “Monitor Sanitiser Greasmonkey script v0.2″ και επιλέξτε “Install User Script”. Εναλλακτικά επιλέξτε το extension.

Σημ.: Προϋποθέτει ότι υπάρχουν 5 επίπεδα “δημοτικότητας” από 0 έως 4.

The “Pick Two” Rule for Software Projects

This has been going over my mind for quite some time. So long, in fact, that I don’t remember if I’ve read it somewhere or came up with it myself. Here it goes.

Consider the following attributes that contribute to the value of a software project in terms of cost and profit:

  • Time to market
  • Features
  • Quality

    • For any Software Project with limited resources, when you pick any two of these attributes the third is going to be a trade-off.

    So, for example, if time to market is the major factor, you have to make a compromise between either “Features” or “Quality”. Accordingly, if quality is the main goal you will either have to drop some features or settle for increased time to market, if you need to maintain quality.
